The Anti-Conservative Fallacy

“Is it right to legislate morality?” is a deeply confused question.   Edward Feser (who rocks, btw) untangles it and names a new logical fallacy in this piece he wrote around the Terri Schiavo case.

Father, we live and move and have our being in You. You know us from all eternity. You perceive our thoughts from afar. You discern our going out and lying down. You are familiar with all our ways. Before a word is on our tongue you know it completely. You hem us in—behind and before; You have laid Your hand on us. Such knowledge is too wonderful for us, too lofty for us to attain.

Thank You for making us and giving us this world to live in. You know what You’re doing Father; You’re working all things together for good. You are magnifying the glory of Jesus Christ and making His enemies into a footstool for His feet. You are magnifying the glory of His cross and the judicial murder He submitted to there. Thank You for including us in His death and resurrection. Thank You for lavishing forgiveness and grace upon us. Thank You for the promise of sharing Your life with You forever.

Please fill us with Your Spirit and empower us to worship You the way You want Your people to worship. We love You Father. Amen.

Atheist vs. Christian grudgematch

Is Christianity Good for the World? Indignant prophet of no-God Christopher Hitchens goes six rounds with bomb throwing Idaho pastor Doug Wilson.  Hilarity ensues. Can naturalism account for itself? Can it even understand the question? Tune in and see.
